AeroPress Iced Coffee
Whether it’s the changing of the seasons or you are just looking for a new drink, an iced coffee will liven up any day. We have a simple yet satisfying recipe for an easy to master iced coffee!
You will need:
- AeroPress
- Paper/ metal disk filter
- Lord & Lady Coffee
- Digital scale (optional)
- Grinder (optional, we like Baratza grinders)
- Kettle (gooseneck preferred)
- Ice and glass
Brew Logistics
Makes 1 cup ( 300g )
Dry Coffee: 20g
Water: 150g
Ice:150g
Grind: medium (similar to sea salt)
Water temp : 195-205, 30 seconds off boil
Ratio: 8:1 (8g of water for every 1g of dry coffee )
Let’s Brew
1.) Rinse paper filter in the paper basket. Grind your coffee beans to medium grind.
2.) For inverted method, place AeroPress plunger side down on the scale add 20g of coffee to the chamber and tare the scale. Pour 50 g of water into the chamber stirring immediately for 30 seconds. Add remaining 100g of water.
3.) Fasten the prepped cap with paper filter and allow the brew to steep for 1 minute while you add your 150g of ice to your preferred cold cup.
4.) Flip the AeroPress right side up placing it onto your ice filled glass on a flat surface. Press down gently until hissing sound accompanies a slow drip through your filter.
5.) Add desired cream or simple syrup and enjoy that beautiful cup of coffee, you deserve it.
BONUS Simple Syrup Recipe
We all know that granular sugar will not dissolve easily in an iced beverage, if you would like to add some sweetness to your home brewed iced coffee follow this simple syrup recipe.
1 Cup boiling water
1 Cup granular Sugar
Stir ingredients over medium heat until all granules have dissolved, pour into sealable containers ( we like to use a Masson jar) and store in our fridge up to 4 weeks. Add to iced coffee as needed!
