THE BEGINNINGS
This scale was one of the very first "elevated" items we purchased when we began drinking fresh roast coffee. Our first scale, it got us into the world of experimenting with ratios and brew styles.
FUNCTION
Both a timer and a scale, this little guy packs a mean punch with a capacity of 2kg. It's also crazy accurate. It's simple and easy to use with a great display. Time your Chemex or AeroPress brew to ensure the best flavour profile possible. You can use batteries, or select the model with adaptor. We typically just use battery, it's nice to not have the cord jumbling up the coffee bar.
DESIGN
We love the simple black, sleek design. It matches well with our other popular gear like the black Baratza Encore and the Fellow EKG kettle. It's so small and light, easily take it with you on the go or tuck it away in your kitchen.
OUR ONE MISTAKE
At times we weren't careful about spilling water on it. We probably could have done a better job wiping it right away and attempting to not drench it while making coffee. It may have led to the premature death of our first one. Although it is water repellant, we wouldn't suggest letting it sit in water on the counter or spilling copious amounts of water on it. Nonetheless, once we figured out how to pour without spilling, this scale has a long life.
