HOW TO BREW WITH AN AEROPRESS

You will need:

  • Aeropress
  • Paper/ metal disk filter
  • Fresh Roast Lord & Lady Coffee
  • Digital scale (optional)
  • Grinder (optional, we like Baratza grinders)
  • Kettle (gooseneck preferred)
  • Fave Coffee Cup

 

Brew Logistics

Makes 1 cup 

Dry Coffee: 15g (3 tablespoons)

Water:  240g (1 cup)

Grind: medium (similar to sea salt)

Water temp : 195-205, 30 seconds off boil

Ratio: 16:1 (16g of water for every 1g of dry coffee)

 

Let’s Brew

Classic Brewing Method 

1.) Rinse paper filter in the paper basket. Grind your coffee beans to medium.

2.) Fasten the filter basket to the brewing chamber, stand the Aeropress onto your coffee cup sitting on your scale. Set scale to zero.

3.) Add 15g of ground coffee into the brewing chamber, tare scale again. Pour 240g of water into the chamber, immediately after pouring stir coffee to agitate and fully saturate grinds. Leave to brew for 1 minute

4.) Once 1 minute has passed move the cup and Aeropress off the school to a flat surface. Add the plunger to the chamber and push down using even pressure until all the coffee has been pushed through the filter.

5.) Enjoy that beautiful cup of coffee, you deserve it.

 

Inverted Method

1.) Rinse paper filter in the paper basket. Grind your coffee beans to medium.

2.)  For inverted method  place Aeropress plunger side down on the scale add 15g of coffee to the chamber and tare the scale. Pour 40 g of water into the chamber stirring immediately for 30 seconds. Add remaining 200g of water.

3.) Fasten the prepped cap with paper filter and allow the brew to steep for 2 minutes while you pick out your favourite coffee cup.

4.) Put you chosen cup over the cap to catch and drips as you flip the Aeropress right side up and place you cup down and a flat surface. Press down gently until hissing sound is made.

5.)Enjoy that beautiful cup of coffee, you deserve it.
